The Ridings Federation Winterbourne International Academy 2014.

A public art project for the new school building.

Initial ideas for the project were generated by a group of gifted and talented year 9 students. Two of their ideas were chosen by senior management to be developed by me into print ready vector designs. The first piece, window decals of balloons and words, was inspired by Bristol’s links with (and the students love for) hot air balloons, combined with answers given by a wide range of students in response to the question ‘what do you want to know?’

The second piece, a 15 metre long wall paper panel to go in the school atrium above the dining area, is all about the oceans of the World. The highly detailed design includes images and information about, among other things, epic voyages of discovery, great ocean migrations and ocean currents.
